Privacy Policy

Overview

Dot Launcher is a minimalist Android home screen launcher. We do not operate any servers and we do not run analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. This policy explains the small amount of data that does leave your device — entirely through Google Play's own services — and how you can manage it.

Data We Collect

Dot Launcher does not collect, store, or transmit personal data to systems we control. All your preferences — grid layout, display mode, colour settings, Pro access state — are stored locally on your device only and never leave it.

The only data that leaves your device does so through Google Play services, not through us:

• Google Play Billing transmits your purchase of Dot Launcher Pro — including the product ID, purchase token, transaction status, and the Google account associated with the purchase — to Google so that the purchase can be processed and restored on reinstall. We never see or store your name, email address, postal address, or payment card details.
• Google Play In-App Updates queries Google for available app updates. This involves your installed app version and basic device information being sent to Google.
• Google Play (Android Vitals) automatically receives aggregated crash reports and diagnostic information (such as ANR rates, startup time, and battery usage) from your device, which we can view in Google Play Console. This data is collected by Google, not by us, and contains no personal information.
• Google Play Billing transmits your purchase of Dot Launcher Pro — including the product ID, purchase token, transaction status, and a Google account identifier (User ID) associated with the purchase — to Google so that the purchase can be processed and restored on reinstall. If you choose to pay through your mobile carrier, Google may also use your phone number to complete the transaction. We never see or store your name, email address, postal address, payment card details, or phone number.

Both channels are operated by Google and use TLS encryption in transit. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles this data.

Permissions

Dot Launcher requests the following permissions:

• QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES — Required to display the list of installed apps on your home screen.
• REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES — Required to allow you to uninstall apps from within the launcher.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Used to show a single notification when your free trial of Pro features is ending. No marketing notifications are sent.
• BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE — Optional. Used only if you enable the "halo rings" feature, which displays a coloured ring around an app's dot when that app has an unread notification. Notification content is never read, stored, or transmitted — only the fact that a notification exists.
• INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — Added automatically by the Google Play Billing and Google Play In-App Updates libraries. These are used solely by Google's libraries to communicate with Google's servers, as described above. Dot Launcher itself makes no other network requests.

No permission is used for data collection, advertising, or analytics.

Third-Party Services

Dot Launcher does not use analytics platforms, advertising networks, or any third-party tracking services. The only third-party components are Google's own Google Play Billing (for in-app purchases) and Google Play In-App Updates (for update prompts), both governed by Google's privacy policy.

Dot Launcher includes a simple local crash reporter. If the app crashes, a brief technical log is saved privately on your device only. This log contains:

• The crash timestamp
• App version number
• Android version and device model
• The technical stack trace of the crash

No personal data is included, and nothing is ever transmitted automatically. On the next launch after a crash, you will be shown a single prompt asking whether you'd like to send the report. If you choose to send it, your own email client opens with the log pre-filled — you review it and decide whether to send. If you dismiss the prompt, the log is deleted immediately and you will never be asked again about that crash.

Data Deletion

Because Dot Launcher does not collect or store data on its own servers, there is nothing on our side to delete. Your purchase record is held by Google and tied to your Google account.

To delete or manage that data:

• Manage data Google holds about you at myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy.
• To request a refund (which removes the purchase), see Google Play Help — Refunds.
• Uninstalling Dot Launcher removes all on-device data, including your saved preferences and any locally stored crash log.

Children's Privacy

Dot Launcher is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
